previous 2/10 next 4/10  Lime 6 - 5 Horstensen (393920028)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Arena onLime saw a crowd turnout of 1775. Göran Karlsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alberto Brito and Alfredo Aguirrebeña. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Lime. The following players had been chosen: Wallentin - Fustini, Rautalahti - Feurer, Drelles, Büx, Grone, Airoldi - Krummensee, Yair, van der Sligte.

Horstensen started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Lineup: Jochems - Ziegenhorst, Šikorskis, Horsten, Heburg - Jin Cheng, Lesacher, Kechele, Ehrgang, Brara - Nagel.

1 minutes into the game, Lime wanted to bring some new energy to their game. M. Fustini gave E. Koelch a quick hug as he left the field. After 1 minutes, the Lime coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving F. Airoldi off the field. D. Quadbeckk-Seeger took his place. 1 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Lime substitution. B. Lindemann came on for H. Büx. A. Krummensee gave Lime the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 J. Feurer's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 16 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to A. Krummensee who knocked it in for Lime. 2 - 0! With 17 minutes played, Lime's H. van der Sligte almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. The visitors replied 23 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 2 - 1, as M. Heburg dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. With 34 minutes of the game having been played, B. Lindemann received a blow to the hip in a collision and was unable to continue. Lime, with no available replacements, now faced the prospect of finishing the game with a reduced number of players. 36 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 2 - 2 as S. Šikorskis struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Yair from Lime a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Horstensen took the lead after 38 minutes making the score 2 - 3. S. Šikorskis placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. D. Quadbeckk-Seeger showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 40 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 3 - 3 equaliser away. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 3. Horstensen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

After 56 minutes, Horstensen put themselves up 3 - 4, as N. Jin Cheng finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. The referee signalled a penalty 63 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. S. Šikorskis knocked it home to make the score 3 - 5. This third goal completed a hattrick for S. Šikorskis. E. Koelch of Lime was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. H. van der Sligte's lightning pace was too much for A. Horsten who could only look on as the Lime player blasted one home. 4 - 5. With 73 minutes having been played, Lime scored to make it 5 - 5. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but K. Rautalahti was marked down as the scorer. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, D. Quadbeckk-Seeger scored for Lime putting them ahead 6 - 5, after 88 minutes. Horstensen enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

Most important Lime player was M. Yair. However, J. Wallentin made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Horstensen player was without a doubt J. Brara. On the other hand, M. Ziegenhorst's play was disheartening. The match ends 6 - 5.
