Dark skies made the crowd of 1208 at C.T. COMANESTI a little nervous, but the rain held off. Rune Skogseth was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jiří Pospíšil and Siedo van der Vaart. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for C.T. COM. Lineup: Airinei - Salazar Baraona, Cinti, Svane, Woels, Trippel - Moise, Şuhan, Vrabec - Hidvégi, Giordano.

AIUD had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Krenzel - Călbază, Prahoveanu, Ţunea - Prudhomme, Mircea, Gârniţă, Mihalcea, Claesson - Mínguez, Adinolfi.

Today, C.T. COM's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. AIUD were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. 6 minutes into the game, C.T. COM seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a poor level of organisation. The guests almost went up by a goal after 9 minutes when M. Adinolfi came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. C.T. COM made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left B. Vrabec completely alone with keeper F. Krenzel, who made a spectacular block. 27 minutes into the game, A. Gârniţă almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. A counterattack by C.T. COM after 28 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but Á. Hidvégi, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. Speedy M. Giordano tried one of his patented rushes 30 minutes into the game, but A. Ţunea was just as fast and averted the attack. AIUD's A. Prudhomme was shown a yellow card after 31 minutes for slicing down an opponent. C.T. COM were forced into a substitution as G. Cinti couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing F. Vojtaško to come in off the bench. Slack defending gave C.T. COM a chance to take the lead with 35 minutes played, but P. Moise's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. 36 minutes into the game, A. Mínguez had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. AIUD had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

A review of the gameplan helped C.T. COM get back to a passable organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. A. Mínguez had a good opportunity to give AIUD the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. Attacking on the wings was the choice for C.T. COM, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. A. Prudhomme of AIUD got sent off for kicking the ball after the whistle, a completely uncalled for move, earning him his second yellow card of the game. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 82 minutes into the match left AIUD's M. Adinolfi completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. With 86 minutes gone, AIUD had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However, A. Gârniţă did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. After 87 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as C.T. COM found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. With 88 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed A. Gârniţă of AIUD to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. By now, the players in AIUD felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. AIUD enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

Most important C.T. COM player was F. Vojtaško. On the other hand, G. Trippel's play was disheartening. P. Claesson performed admirably for AIUD. T. Mircea turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
