previous 10/10 next 2/10  Sukita 2 - 1 Gunners (393984064)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Zinedine Zidane saw a crowd turnout of 2791. Julio Lana was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tomas Dahlerberg and Milaim Steinbach. Sukita had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Lineup: Real Gómez - Scano, Erkelenz, Berenguel, Landen - Urkia-Bereterbide, Paśnikowski, Quirós, Kullenhult, Calabrese - Eliaçık.

Gunners decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. They fielded: Dierckens - Baquerizo, Scriba, Zhidelev, Borrey - Quagliarulo, Muylaert, Wijks, Riiga, Barros Neves - Milán.

Sukita mostly relied on their long range shooting ability. Sukita's slick passing moves completely confused the defence after 17 minutes, but thanks to C. Dierckens's miraculous save from O. Urkia-Bereterbide's long shot the score remained unchanged. With 27 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. A. Riiga put the ball away for 0 - 1. Sukita were close to equalising with a spectacular free kick by P. Calabrese after 34 minutes, but C. Dierckens made a great save, tipping it to a corner. Sukita focused on finding shooting opportunities from distance and after 35 minutes E. Quirós fired off the big cannon, but the shot went sailing over the cross bar and into the car park. It was obvious that the tactic of the day for Sukita was to go for long shots, but in order to score they have to do better than the shooting attempt from D. Kullenhult after 41 minutes, which was a total failure. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 74 minutes into the match, an alert S. Eliaçık bagged the ball for Sukita, levelling the score to 1 - 1. 84 minutes into the game, Z. Paśnikowski had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came J. Mena. 85 minutes in, Sukita appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only solid. Sukita took the lead after 86 minutes as a result of E. Quirós's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 2 - 1. 88 minutes into the game, Sukita had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. The referee showed Sukita's S. Eliaçık the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Possession in this half belonged to Gunners, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

Sukita's best player was S. Eliaçık. However, S. Berenguel made a disastrous appearance. Gunners's top performer was clearly G. Milán. G. Barros Neves was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
