Dark skies made the crowd of 3366 at JK Chelsea Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Adrià Xordí was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ēriks Sineps and Stephen Kneebone. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Lokomotiv claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.

Lokomotiv came close to extending their lead as C. Kastholdt delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 50 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. V. Abaeto challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 65 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. After 66 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave K. Schlüter a chance to increase the lead for Lokomotiv, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. Some fine movement on the left led to a Lokomotiv goal after 67 minutes, making it 0 - 4. F. Kjær Jensen was noted down as the scorer. J. Larsen of Lokomotiv took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 77 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 5. By now, the players in Lokomotiv felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. After 81 minutes Lokomotiv's F. Frank contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Just a few inches to the right, and the visitors could have had a goal 83 minutes into the match. N. Uhrskov surely wishes he could do that free kick over again. Lokomotiv had most of the ball, with 64 percent of possession.

Chelsea's best player was A. Laughlin. However, B. McAleese made a disastrous appearance. Most important Lokomotiv player was F. Kjær Jensen. C. Kastholdt was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 5.
