previous 1/10 next 3/10  Knightleys 2 - 0 Petindusiens (393987951)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 2466 at Montego Bay Knightle Stadium today. Pekka Rahkonen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lauri Asplund and Normunds Galvāns. Knightleys decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players took the field: Skrabucha - Fitzpatrick, Cichomski, Bubicz, Głowala - Delanaye, Tramontina, Pérez Cerro, Pejčić, Detiger - Sypniewski.

Petindusiens tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination. They fielded: Lloclla - Pirès, Roch, Labroche, Bourre, Borne - Radojčić, Gury, Duarte - Azevedo, van Wetten.

With 7 minutes played D. Pérez Cerro almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. 35 minutes into the game, J. Bourre almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Knightleys claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

The referee signaled a penalty for the home side after 62 minutes, amid vocal protests from the visitors. Knightleys fans erupted in celebration as D. Pérez Cerro rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0! Knightleys's D. Pérez Cerro struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 2 - 0 after 77 minutes. Petindusiens breathed new life into the game with an opportunity to reduce the score after 81 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball on the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar. Knightleys enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

The most dominating Knightleys player was without a doubt G. Detiger. J. Skrabucha on the other hand, had a terrible day. R. van Wetten performed admirably for Petindusiens. On the other hand, J. Roch's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 0.
