previous 1/10 next 3/10  Southorn 10 - 1 Olympique (393996861)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 5189 that came out to Southorn Stadium. Florian Cognet was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tamás Szabó and Anders Johansson. Southorn had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Cardamone - Carapío, Halevi - 明錚 (Mingzheng) , Sheridan, Abts, Smillie, Winterscheid - 劍光 (Jianguang) , 關戎 (Guanrong) , Sauret.

Olympique tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. They fielded: Reina - Jensen, Hansson, Løvenkrands, Andersson - Verón, García, Perez - Teşa, Torres, Helveg.

Olympique used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. As the 1 minute mark approached, the Southorn coach decided it was time for a substitution. P. Carapío reluctantly made way for 簡. 福侖 (Fulun) on the pitch. It wasn't a pretty goal, but the free kick by D. Abts after 16 minutes somehow found its way past the keeper. Southorn takes the lead, 1 - 0! 26 minutes into the game, Southorn were awarded a penalty that D. Abts turned into 2 - 0 without a problem. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, D. Perez got himself booked. The manager of Olympique was not happy. After 29 minutes, S. Winterscheid put Southorn ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 33 minutes, Southorn did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, 譚. 劍光 (Jianguang) was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 4 - 0. T. Sheridan enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Southorn's 譚. 劍光 (Jianguang) increasing the lead to 5 - 0. After this, you could see that the players of Southorn were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. 39 minutes into the match Olympique's P. García head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. Southorn were forced into a substitution as 錢. 關戎 (Guanrong) couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing 馬. 雲翊 (Yunyi) to come in off the bench. 5 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Southorn, who controlled the ball 80 percent of the time.

Southorn put themselves up 6 - 0 when 譚. 劍光 (Jianguang) broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. That made three goals for 譚. 劍光 (Jianguang) and he was marked down for the hat trick. Olympique had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. A bit later, Olympique's D. Jensen easily reduced the lead to 6 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. Southorn managed to extend their lead to 7 - 1 when D. Abts cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. This third goal completed a hattrick for D. Abts. F. Torres wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Southorn scored another to make it 8 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for D. Abts after 82 minutes. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Southorn to 9 - 1 as Y. Halevi finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After 86 minutes, Olympique's J. Reina fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! 87 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as C. Smillie broke through, making the score 10 - 1 for Southorn. Southorn had most of the ball, with 80 percent of possession.

Most important Southorn player was 譚. 劍光 (Jianguang) . T. Sheridan on the other hand, had a terrible day. Olympique's top performer was clearly F. Torres. However, D. Andersson made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 10 - 1.
