Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of MT. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Topechope. Topechope took the lead 8 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. A. Menu was the scorer. The crowd was on its feet 28 minutes into the match, as MT's H. Habibi found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. MT made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left A. Iodice completely alone with keeper J. Arreche, who made a spectacular block. Topechope's M. Reina managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 35 minutes. 1 - 2. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Topechope had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.

The home crowd was not impressed when C. Polido came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 48 minutes. Topechope were now up 1 - 3. After this, you could see that the players of Topechope were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. R. Tülü's inexperience was obvious when his continual hesitation to put in a tackle allowed M. Reina plenty of time to pick an unguarded area of the goal for his shot, marking one for Topechope. 1 - 4. With the clock showing 54 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of MT resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by F. Mascia in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. Some fine movement on the left led to a Topechope goal after 64 minutes, making it 1 - 5. C. Gabilondo was noted down as the scorer. 69 minutes in, MT's N. Hempfer received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Topechope's S. Leyton refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 83 minutes. Topechope enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.
