previous 3/10 next 5/10  Gonfie 0 - 1 Crusader (394023211)

Dark skies made the crowd of 1735 at Nel filo spinato a little nervous, but the rain held off. Mats Karlquist was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Cristian Bruno and Daniele Tartaglia. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Gonfie. The following players had been chosen: Bańkowski - Babović, Raphael, Tiefenbach - Schleiss, Sazama, Kropornicki, Plate, Ancău - Sveen, Andersson.

Crusader tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. They fielded: Assenmacher - Villa Fernández, Merbitz, Valdelomar - Battistini, 淳强 (Chunqiang) , Bethencourt, Bock - Sánchez, Sarbek, Ganzaroli.

Gonfie tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Crusader clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. P. Bańkowski looked great 4 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' J. Villa Fernández. Gonfie made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left S. Babović completely alone with keeper G. Assenmacher, who made a spectacular block. 18 minutes in, Gonfie's S. Babović received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 庞. 淳强 (Chunqiang) of Crusader had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. H. Tighe came in to finish the match. T. Bock stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Crusader the goal to make it 0 - 1. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Gonfie had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

Gonfie's A. Kropornicki put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 59 minutes, but the ball went wide. R. Ancău managed to make an excellent pass from the flank, but T. Sveen was not as skillfull in scoring. The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed Gonfie's coach gave R. Barreira the opportunity the player had been hoping for. O. Sazama reluctantly left the field. With 72 minutes played, Ş. Sarbek nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Gonfie tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. Gonfie's S. Babović almost tied things up with 77 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. Gonfie claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

Most important Gonfie player was R. Barreira. However, R. Ancău made a disastrous appearance. Crusader's best player was G. Sánchez. On the other hand, S. Merbitz's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 1.
