The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 4071 had shown up at Deuse´s temple of Redondela for the match. USL claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

With 55 minutes played, Destellos put themselves up 3 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to J. Valenciano, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. K. Jaruzel wanted to play on, but the Destellos coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 56 minutes into the game by M. Majtas. The coach of Destellos was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 61 minutes, B. Veld came on for R. Soriano. B. Puschen had a lethal looking free kick that grazed the post after 64 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Destellos coach let H. van Velde replace G. Jense after 66 minutes. When Ó. Alventosa left the game because of a back injury after 70 minutes, Destellos had to continue a man short due to there being no available replacements. 80 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as M. Majtas broke through, making the score 4 - 1 for Destellos. 88 minutes into the game, Destellos seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. A bit later, USL's D. Harmeling easily reduced the lead to 4 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. With 89 minutes played, K. Olejnicki had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Destellos seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation.
