KVVV 1 - 0 LATINO
(394061123)

15-08-2012 13.30
Clouds darkened the skies at
KVVV Arena as 2439 spectators turned up for the match.
Tom Donawell was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bozo Horvatinovic and
Krzysztof Jerszczak.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for KVVV.
They fielded: Facciolo - Rienzi, Caldiero, Warias - Governini, De Cloedt, Weckerl, Cambré, Boonen - Backeljauw, Blauwaert.
LATINO decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
The following players took the field: Olarra - Aldariz, Quintanilla, Ariztía, Wery - Segovia, Garcia, San Roman, Orihuela, Conde - Kachkachian.
KVVV's
R. Weckerl left the field after 19 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
A. Elespuru.
B. Ariztía of LATINO was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
0 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by KVVV, with 67 percent of the ball.
Slack defending gave KVVV a chance to take the lead with 55 minutes played, but
J. Backeljauw's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
LATINO's
I. Conde was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 61 minutes.
After 63 minutes, the LATINO coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
A. Orihuela off the field.
H. Rueda took his place.
69 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a LATINO substitution.
F. Mustaine came on for
B. Kachkachian.
KVVV had to make a substitution after 72 minutes.
J. Backeljauw limped off the field and was replaced by
Đ. Hanh.
With the match clock at 73 minutes, LATINO modified their style of play a little bit.
As
N. Cambré had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the KVVV player a red card without batting an eyelid.
LATINO were forced into a substitution as
H. Wery couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
R. Ortuño to come in off the bench.
Đ. Hanh's speed was clear to see after 77 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
B. Blauwaert who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 1 - 0.
A. Elespuru unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
After 79 minutes, the defensive line of LATINO created a counterattack through the middle that gave
B. Garcia a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
The LATINO coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy.
M. Aldariz received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 84 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
KVVV enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
KVVV's best player was
A. Elespuru.
J. Rienzi turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating LATINO player was without a doubt
B. Garcia.
However,
F. San Roman made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 0.
