Clear skies welcomed the 1655 spectators who had made their way to FC Energy Goldbach Arena. Cecil Burford was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Zeev Rivlin and Citrabha Kaicker. Goldbach had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. Goldbach seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave H. Limor from GorghenseFC a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 7 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Slack defending gave Goldbach a chance to take the lead with 11 minutes played, but M. Bartolomeo's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. They were singing the praises of T. Rogersson 23 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Goldbach. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as GorghenseFC's A. Pozzan put the ball in the onion bag after 31 minutes to make it 1 - 1. Goldbach's E. Zeldmans got himself booked for a foul. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Goldbach enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

It was obvious that team Goldbach had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 83 minutes, Goldbach did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, S. Syskoplan-Schneider was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 1. Goldbach claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

Goldbach's top performer was clearly T. Rogersson. M. Bartolomeo on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating GorghenseFC player was without a doubt H. Limor. On the other hand, A. Pozzan's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 1.
