Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 3475 at atsuhiro Stadium today. Knud Fogh was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Per Holand and Adrian Ficek. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for ahh.yatsushiro. Chiaverotti from ahh.yatsushiro a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! An equalising goal seemed certain after 40 minutes when X. Faura attacked down the left wing, but J. García just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net. After 42 minutes, ahh.yatsushiro were awarded a free kick as their counter attack broke down. The set piece was lifted over the top, intended to open up the defence. However, the target man seemed to be taken by surprise, and could not reach the ball before it crossed the line for a goal kick. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Bestia had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

The ahh.yatsushiro players could smell victory in the air. T. Bestia were close to putting the equaliser away after 70 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to W. Leitinger in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. The visitors were awarded a penalty by the referee 73 minutes into the match, much to the anger of the home crowd. J. Barbe took advantage of the situation and scored to make it 1 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Bestia, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.

As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. Still tied after extra time, the crowd was buzzing as the teams prepared for a penalty shoot-out to determine the winner.
