previous 4/10 next 6/10  inter88 1 - 8 RMBTW (394090906)

The 3631 spectators at La Manita 2010 were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Alex Demeter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Yves Heineken and Beniamin Kowaluk. inter88 decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Lineup: Odorizzi - Balbussi, Giraldo, Vitiello - Intini, Pivetti, Cosentino, Gloria - Bodega, Francia, Caprara.

RMBTW tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. They fielded: Tomes - Stępniewicz, Preininger, Alvar, Łazuka - Chomko, Radziwił, Bajak, Le Vaillant, Strotzer - Dudar.

After 15 minutes, RMBTW's S. Dudar made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. No matter how hard he tried, G. Vitiello just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 16 minutes. R. Bajak increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2. At this point, it was obvious that the players of RMBTW lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. K. Łazuka caught everyone by surprise with a unexpected volley after 38 minutes. V. Strotzer was perfectly placed to take advantage of the play, but unfortunately, he was as surprised as anyone and couldn't finish for RMBTW. The head of K. Łazuka connected with a corner kick after 41 minutes, and the ball ended up with M. Preininger of RMBTW who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 0 - 3. The referee signalled a penalty 42 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. Q. Le Vaillant knocked it home to make the score 0 - 4. With clinical precision, the cross from winger M. Gloria found its way to T. Intini's head, and a screaming header gave inter88 the goal after 43 minutes played. 1 - 4 The home crowd was not impressed when M. Preininger came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 43 minutes. RMBTW were now up 1 - 5. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, M. Gloria got himself booked. The manager of inter88 was not happy. inter88 will have to do without A. Cosentino for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 44 minute mark. He was substituted by M. Salatelli. After 44 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as inter88 found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to passable. 44 minutes into the game, B. Pivetti had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came G. Cutrono. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 5. RMBTW claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

The inter88 players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, R. Bajak would have put RMBTW up another goal 49 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. With 55 minutes played, A. Francia of inter88 fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 59 minutes into the game, inter88 seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why G. Vitiello found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. Some fine movement on the left led to a RMBTW goal after 70 minutes, making it 1 - 6. V. Strotzer was noted down as the scorer. I. Chomko of RMBTW took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 71 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 7. After 74 minutes, inter88 switched D. Bodega with A. Liotta, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. S. Dudar received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 77 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 8. The RMBTW fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. A. Liotta tried to get a goal back for inter88 but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. RMBTW enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

Most important inter88 player was A. Liotta. However, T. Intini made a disastrous appearance. S. Dudar performed admirably for RMBTW. K. Łazuka was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 8.
