previous 1/10 next 3/10  Arabi 0 - 6 Trampkarze (394109811)

3306 spectators had come to Sabah Al Salem this cloudy day. Sverre Soma was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Fabrizio Cariboni and Elías Gálvez. Arabi tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. Starters: Jongbloed - Antonacci, Juwayri, Špiler - Ajui, Ali, Ichya, Lanner - Al-Hamdan, Sulaiman, Haddad.

Trampkarze started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Lineup: de Lara - Derda, Droś, Dymanowski, Karolak - Szczyrbowski, Gliszczyński, Zarzecki, Tura, Babić - Grabka.

S. Karolak came close to putting the visiting team one up 3 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but K. Jongbloed managed to tip the ball to a corner. After the game, the most discussed event will probably be the penalty given after 19 minutes that gave the visitors the 0 - 1 lead. Despite the controversy, K. Szczyrbowski struck home the penalty, as cool as anything. After 20 minutes, Trampkarze's M. Zarzecki burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. The home crowd was not impressed when B. Grabka came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 21 minutes. Trampkarze were now up 0 - 3. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Trampkarze, with 80 percent of the ball.

Trampkarze's E. Dymanowski left the field after 47 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was E. Nosowski. After 69 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed B. Grabka to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4. By now, the players in Trampkarze felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. The home crowd cheered when, after 70 minutes, J. Gliszczyński's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. M. Zarzecki increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 5. J. Gliszczyński could have put his team up another goal 72 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Trampkarze increased their lead after 73 minutes when Ð. Babić broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 6, much to the home crowd's dismay. Trampkarze had most of the ball, with 83 percent of possession.

Arabi's top performer was clearly Y. Haddad. A. Lanner was a disappointment, however. Ð. Babić performed admirably for Trampkarze. R. de Lara turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 6.
