previous 3/10 next 5/10  Eintracht 3 - 2 Real61 (394113166)

Due to an all-day shower, 1938 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Eintracht Arena. Jean-Gabriel Deyne was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Shuki Ben-Dor and Otakar Pilát. Eintracht decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Jansenberger - Stommeleer, Samuel, Monnot - Stadler, Werfeli, Alonzo, Quabaj, Busser - Echalar, Birschl.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Real61. Lineup: Penezić - Eterovic, Gvozdenović - Koso, Vulić, Weiland, Kitanović, Rivlin - Lumpkin, Bremmer, Zafirović.

3 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but D. Koso, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. They were singing the praises of R. Stadler 4 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Eintracht. The referee showed Real61's V. Gvozdenović the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. B. Alonzo of Eintracht had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. H. Post came in to finish the match. After 16 minutes, Eintracht raised their score by one when A. Busser's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by R. Echalar. 2 - 0. The visitors' right side was dangerous today; L. Eterovic made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily reduced the lead to make it 2 - 1 21 minutes into the match. J. Bremmer tied the game at 2 - 2 after 24 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right. It was 2 - 2 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Real61, with 57 percent of the ball.

It was a bad day for the usually speedy D. Koso. The mud seemed to slow him down. Eintracht showed their counterattack skill 71 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with A. Busser scoring uncontested for 3 - 2. A. Samuel of Eintracht was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. C. Lumpkin came close to levelling the score 88 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. Real61 had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

The most dominating Eintracht player was without a doubt G. Birschl. H. Post on the other hand, had a terrible day. U. Vulić performed admirably for Real61. However, C. Lumpkin made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.
