previous 7/10 next 9/10  Kvickarna 1 - 3 Ängåsen (394117119)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 382 at Kvicken today. Franz Rieks-Pedersen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sydney Davison and Bangius Laukutis. Kvickarna started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Balteş - Mårtensson, Eriksson, Sjöberg - Bengtsson, Sörensson, Bahreman, Hartskog, Larsson - Josefsson, Örngård.

Ängåsen decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. The following players took the field: Matsson - Lejczak, Mena, Grundy - van den Hoek, Roiz, El-Rashid, Katalin - Scherrer, Bellone, Lijó.

Kvickarna displayed their ability to play creatively. 18 minutes into the match, Ängåsen nearly took the lead, as A. Katalin broke through on the right. D. Balteş made the save, however. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 20 minutes allowed R. van den Hoek to score for Ängåsen. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, P. Roiz got himself booked. The manager of Ängåsen was not happy. The referee signalled a penalty 29 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. A. Scherrer knocked it home to make the score 0 - 2. The players of Ängåsen now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. It was 0 - 2 at the break. Ängåsen enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

R. Bahreman was able to knock home a free kick after 52 minutes to make the score 1 - 2. The referee showed Ängåsen's A. Katalin the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. B. Sjöberg of Kvickarna received a yellow card after 66 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 67 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed A. Scherrer to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 3. O. Bengtsson made a quick rush after 70 minutes, but Q. El-Rashid had no problems keeping up the pace and stopped the attack. The bench was restless, and with 80 minutes passed Kvickarna's coach gave B. Svejstrup the opportunity the player had been hoping for. D. Balteş reluctantly left the field. Possession in this half belonged to Ängåsen, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Kvickarna's top performer was clearly B. Sjöberg. R. Larsson on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Ängåsen player was A. Scherrer. On the other hand, R. van den Hoek's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 3.
