Rosandra 2 - 4 Barcollo (394133709)

The crowd of 1080 turning up at Canyon stadyon today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Logan Higgins was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Flaviu Dinicã and Vincenzo Dirollo. Rosandra decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: Ruiz - Silva, Pasquereau, Blancke, Vera - Tietz, Kłoskowski, Volckaert, Cecot - Compta, Barbanti.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Barcollo. Starters: Schiti - Bento, Ghinzani, Tavanti - Luzii, Casati, Brăneţ, Szczurek, Febrer - Cento, Luñiz.

Barcollo clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. The rain made it hard for players like F. Vera to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day. Down the middle came M. Luzii, making a fantastic play that nearly had Barcollo take the lead after 10 minutes, but A. Ruiz preserved the tie. With 11 minutes of the game having been played, T. Blancke received a blow to the hip in a collision and was unable to continue. Rosandra, with no available replacements, now faced the prospect of finishing the game with a reduced number of players. 18 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Rosandra was D. Cecot. 20 minutes into the match, V. Cento bent a free kick around the home team's defensive formation, leaving the keeper with no chance for a save. Barcollo had levelled the scoreline at 1 - 1. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Barcollo's E. Luñiz after 25 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 28 minutes into the match, an alert R. Compta bagged the ball for Rosandra, levelling the score to 2 - 2. F. Febrer had a good opportunity to give Barcollo the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 2. Barcollo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

Always quick and a menace to his opponents, F. Febrer was very close to getting through after 66 minutes, but he could only put the ball into the keeper's arms. Unfortunately for Rosandra, R. Kłoskowski suffered a concussion after 67 minutes and had to be taken for tests. The coach had his head in his hands after realising he could not send a replacement onto the pitch, and the team had to continue a man short. Rosandra created a good opportunity to score 68 minutes into the match when D. Silva's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Barcollo took the lead after 74 minutes making the score 2 - 3. M. Luzii placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit R. Compta just fine. No matter how hard he tried, R. Compta just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 78 minutes. The Barcollo free kick 79 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of E. Luñiz, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 4! Barcollo had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

Rosandra's top performer was clearly R. Compta. A. Ruiz on the other hand, had a terrible day. Barcollo's best player was M. Luzii. However, V. Cento made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 4.
