Maier, who made a spectacular block. 17 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but T. Gyllenner, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. Vaal's S. Greim got himself booked for a foul. Xaxinense were forced into a substitution as B. Lewalter couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing S. Zamfir to come in off the bench. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 36 minutes into the match left Xaxinense's J. Healey completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. A penalty was missed by Xaxinense's K. Salling 37 minutes into the match. Probably overconfident, he blasted a hard shot miles outside of the left post. The referee showed Vaal's M. Aballe almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. As the 74 minute mark approached, the Xaxinense coach decided it was time for a substitution. B. Aballe reluctantly made way for M. Fernhout on the pitch. Vaal's M. Greiner tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Vaal claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

With the scores being level after 90 minutes, the match went into extra time. After 93 minutes of play, M. Greiner gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right. With that Vaal had won the game in extra time. M. Greiner performed admirably for Vaal. On the other hand, A. Constantin's play was disheartening. Most important Xaxinense player was P. Brinkman. However, S. Zamfir made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 1.
