previous 10/10 next 2/10  Marani 6 - 1 Balatro (394150830)

832 spectators arrived at pisarei e faso Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Saku Stolt was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rudolph Eisebraun and Carol Ionitã. The match took place on neutral ground. Marani tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players took the field: Benoît - Chasiklas, Sobotczyński, Angelone, Guérin - Casentino, Cabras, Ezmir, Debenedetti, De Luise - Giorgi.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Balatro. Lineup: Viggiani - Moseticz, Moratti - Herskär, Castilla, Cuccu, Karpiesiuk, Prelazzi - Secchi, Di Caro, Trojanowski.

Marani clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. Today, Balatro's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 7 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from T. Guérin, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Balatro's A. Moratti had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 9 minutes having been played. M. Tabi was the replacement. 20 minutes in, Balatro appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. Marani increased the lead as D. Giorgi struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. D. Giorgi squirmed through their central defence after 27 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Marani to 4 - 0 as D. Giorgi finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. That made three goals for D. Giorgi and he was marked down for the hat trick. By now, the players in Marani felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. 4 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Marani, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Balatro was able to get his message across, and raised Balatro's organisation to solid. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Marani coach let C. Pesce replace D. Giorgi after 46 minutes. 48 minutes into the game, Balatro had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to inadequate. O. Casentino left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 50 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. M. Gritti was the replacement. The coach of Marani was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 58 minutes, G. Raun came on for M. Debenedetti. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Marani scored another to make it 5 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for C. Chasiklas after 68 minutes. S. Di Caro of Balatro received a yellow card after 75 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. C. Pesce had a fantastic opportunity to put Marani up another goal 79 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. The referee showed Balatro's S. Cuccu the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Marani's M. Gritti had to leave the pitch and there were no more available substitutions! T. Herskär's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert T. Secchi was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Balatro. 5 - 1. C. Pesce could have put Marani up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 89 minutes. Marani's C. De Luise increased the lead to 6 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 89 minutes. Marani enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

The most dominating Marani player was without a doubt F. Cabras. B. Benoît on the other hand, had a terrible day. Balatro's best player was P. Trojanowski. However, T. Herskär made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 1.
