It had rained all day, but 1394 hardy fans still made it out to Kicker Arena. Teuvo Tuovola was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Patrick Ouwehand and Peter Bryde Andersen. ZZZZZ had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Marty - Cavaliere, Füglistaller, Wolperth, Kallen - Schwaighofer, Zuber, Goncalves, Lobsiger, Délpy - Koppisch.

Blau-weiße started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. They fielded: Donoso - Sánchez, Bratengeier, Menares, Barrales - Neumeister, Roig, Petroff, Dáguer - Kieselhumes, Steinböck.

Blau-weiße were relying on their ability to counter-attack. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit S. Neumeister just fine. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 19 minutes allowed J. Dáguer to score for Blau-weiße. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. 23 minutes into the match, H. Roig came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. After 24 minutes ZZZZZ tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, S. Zuber's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. S. Bratengeier had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today. After 43 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed P. Kieselhumes to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. D. Sánchez was, after 44 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper E. Marty made the save. It was 0 - 2 at the break. ZZZZZ enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

H. Roig wanted to play on, but the Blau-weiße coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by F. Terhaardt. The Blau-weiße captaincy was handed to J. Menares. S. Zuber charged down the left and looked sure to score for ZZZZZ 53 minutes into the game, but his shot went just wide. Blau-weiße almost scored after a counterattack 54 minutes into the match, but J. Dáguer took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from J. Dáguer after 56 minutes, and prevented Blau-weiße from going up another goal. The Blau-weiße players could smell victory in the air. S. Neumeister wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for B. Negrić after 60 minutes. M. Steinböck left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 75 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. F. Westernhagen was the replacement. ZZZZZ's J. Füglistaller was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 83 minutes. After 84 minutes S. Zuber could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper. C. Délpy of ZZZZZ received a yellow card after 85 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was a bad day for the usually speedy F. Terhaardt. The mud seemed to slow him down. 87 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as J. Dáguer finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After this, you could see that the players of Blau-weiße were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. B. Negrić of Blau-weiße was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. With 88 minutes played, F. Terhaardt nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Possession was split evenly between the teams.

R. Lobsiger performed admirably for ZZZZZ. However, J. Füglistaller made a disastrous appearance. Most important Blau-weiße player was F. Westernhagen. J. Barrales turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
