Torelli Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Stefán Lúðvíksson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rémi Raymond and
Tomás Becerra.
Maremma decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Lineup: Olla - Di Pilato, Bove, Mucci - Paraschiv, Geroldi, Chiellini, Manuali - Popolo, Cozzella, Alanis.
Torbole sc had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Segreto - Frailis, Elgaard, Triolo - D'aviri, Pedroni, Cioncolini, Woisetschläger - Calascibetta, Gioacchini, Passadore.
Torbole sc clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
After a fine move down the middle
F. Popolo nearly gave the home side a goal after 14 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
S. Manuali gave Maremma the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
18 minutes into the game, Maremma had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
solid.
F. Cioncolini received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 30 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
After 39 minutes Torbole sc's
D. Calascibetta contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
40 minutes into the game, Maremma seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
inadequate.
The visitors refused to give in and, after 41 minutes,
F. Cioncolini evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 1 - 1
D. Paraschiv gave Maremma the lead with a beautiful free kick after 42 minutes. 2 - 1!
43 minutes in, Maremma appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
2 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Maremma had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
The Maremma players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again.
With 47 minutes played, the Torbole sc coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
M. Colaiuta came on,
N. Segreto had to leave the fray.
The bench was restless, and with 52 minutes passed Torbole sc's coach gave
N. Andaloro the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
N. Elgaard reluctantly left the field.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Torbole sc's
F. Cioncolini was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 72 minutes.
M. Vieira was given a chance to change things around.
M. Vieira became the new Torbole sc captain.
A well-executed free kick by
D. Paraschiv after 78 minutes made it 3 - 1 for Maremma.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
F. Popolo got himself booked. The manager of Maremma was not happy.
After 86 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Maremma on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by
F. Popolo to make it 4 - 1.
The players of Maremma now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Maremma's
D. Paraschiv struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 5 - 1 after 87 minutes.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
D. Paraschiv.
The counterattacks of Torbole sc were deadly and 89 minutes into the game,
G. Gioacchini received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 5 - 2.
After 89 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Maremma found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
89 minutes into the game Torbole sc managed a counterattack, but
G. Gioacchini took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper.
When
G. Olla was badly injured by a couple of strong tackles after 89 minutes, Maremma fans were unhappy to discover that it was not possible to make a substitution.
With the goal left unguarded,
M. Alanis had to leave his normal position and pick up the gloves.
Maremma enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
The most dominating Maremma player was without a doubt
G. Cozzella.
M. Alanis on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important Torbole sc player was
G. Gioacchini.
M. Colaiuta turned in a dismal performance, however.
