(394169521)

22-08-2012 17.50
150 fans braved the pouring rain at
Stadion Regionalny.
Thierry Maillet was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Christoffer Prang and
William Roux.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Pakers.
Starters: Alyn - Siegrist, Krieger, Wszelaka, Swat - Strøm-Erichsen, Hendzlik, Viechter, Rejman - Szlasa, Łątka.
Poznański tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
Lineup: Giro - Grabowski, Bondziński, Krężołek, Gibson - Arnaud, Mahdavi, Sitarski, Cegiełkowski, Hougaard - Wrzesień.
It was an obvious ambition of Pakers to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
For their match strategy, Poznański had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 9 minutes into the match left Poznański's
L. Krężołek completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
Pakers made it 1 - 1 as
J. Krieger got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to
O. Łątka who whipped a low drive in off the far post.
After 28 minutes, Poznański's
T. Wrzesień fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
M. Gibson did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
The terraces were silenced after 33 minutes when Poznański's
J. Hougaard put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for Pakers, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
F. Wszelaka charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for Pakers, but the shot went well wide of the goal.
It was 1 - 2 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Pakers, with 53 percent of the ball.
J. Krieger was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on!
O. Łątka was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Pakers with a strike from the left, but
B. Giro managed to ward the shot off for a corner.
63 minutes in, Pakers's
O. Łątka received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Poznański were forced into a substitution as
M. Gibson couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
H. Alt to come in off the bench.
L. Siegrist could have scored for Pakers with his free kick after 69 minutes, but the visitors' keeper just managed to get a hand on it.
Pakers were able to draw a foul with their counterattacks, but the shot from
L. Siegrist went into the arms of the keeper.
Pakers claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.
Pakers's best player was
E. Szlasa.
F. Wszelaka turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Poznański player was without a doubt
H. Alt.
J. Grabowski on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 2.
