1120 spectators had found their way to
Roudourou, despite the heavy rain.
Tor Hexeberg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Thomas Martins and
Moša Jezdimirović.
EAG tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: Öhrquist - Valenzuela Turillo, Husson, Fontaine - Barrère, Melon, Ougaard, Delpech, Pierrot - Zetterman, Baldassa.
hoéhoé! had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
The following players took the field: Mialon - Valenzuela Trillo, Gelei, Santigosa - Hodorog, Pagter, Chechłacz, Davidsen - Debras, Burlot, Mendelssohn.
EAG seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
hoéhoé! were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
M. Santigosa's lack of experience almost gave EAG a goal after 11 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
M. Gelei had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today.
C. Barrère caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 27 minutes. This gave EAG the 1 - 0 lead.
29 minutes into the game, EAG were awarded a penalty that
F. Ougaard turned into 2 - 0 without a problem.
After 32 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as hoéhoé! found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
solid.
The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit
V. Melon just fine.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
A. Husson squirmed through their central defence after 38 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of EAG were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
EAG made it 4 - 0 as
A. Husson got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to
C. Barrère who whipped a low drive in off the far post.
T. Delpech had a fantastic opportunity to put EAG up another goal 42 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0.
EAG enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 79 percent of possession.
The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that hoéhoé! had
excellent organisation.
M. Baldassa increased the lead for EAG to 5 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
After 63 minutes hoéhoé!'s
M. Gelei limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as EAG scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
M. Zetterman after 65 minutes.
66 minutes into the game, hoéhoé! seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
solid level of organisation.
80 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
C. Pierrot broke through, making the score 7 - 0 for EAG.
After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper,
M. Baldassa demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for EAG 82 minutes into the match made the score 8 - 0.
T. Delpech should probably have put his team up another goal after 83 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
J. Mialon kept the visitors in the game.
EAG's
T. Delpech left the field after 84 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
A. Kastanos.
With 85 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, hoéhoé! showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 8 - 1 when
A. Valenzuela Trillo got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
F. Ougaard increased EAG's lead to 9 - 1 with a penalty spot cannonball.
EAG's
C. Barrère refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 87 minutes.
88 minutes into the game, hoéhoé! had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
passable.
EAG's
M. Baldassa increased the lead to 10 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 88 minutes.
At that,
M. Baldassa was noted down for a hat trick!
EAG claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 83 percent.
Most important EAG player was
A. Kastanos.
A. Husson was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating hoéhoé! player was without a doubt
S. Burlot.
J. Mialon turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 10 - 1.
