2541 fans braved the pouring rain at S.Agata Stadium. Kornel Duijsenberg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Fredrik Falin and Gerónimo Porta. Elefantaus tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. They fielded: Minati - Ciofani, Abu-Musa, Zonarelli - Kucherov, Zambrotta, David, Cuccione - Klompe, Rodling, Hondius.

Šípi had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Sele - Jamal, Dahan, Guevara - Lorang, Nuttall, Zenys, Wunderwald, Bjørke - Szymanowicz, Kmet.

Elefantaus seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. 7 minutes into the match, Šípi nearly took the lead, as B. Szymanowicz broke through on the right. M. Minati made the save, however. After 21 minutes, Šípi put themselves up 0 - 1, as C. Wunderwald finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. J. Lorang of Šípi took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 28 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. 38 minutes into the match, V. Guevara came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Šípi's B. Szymanowicz got himself booked for a foul. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Šípi had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.

The home crowd was not impressed when J. Bjørke came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 49 minutes. Šípi were now up 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, Šípi's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 55 minutes, Šípi did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, J. Bjørke was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 4. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, M. Dahan would have put Šípi up another goal 79 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. Šípi came close to extending their lead as B. Szymanowicz delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 81 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Šípi's J. Lorang was shown a yellow card after 83 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Šípi enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

Elefantaus's best player was Y. Hondius. However, M. Minati made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Šípi player was without a doubt B. Szymanowicz. On the other hand, J. Bjørke's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 4.
