previous 10/10 next 2/10  Nidarheim 1 - 6 Halvmaraton (394189611)

Due to an all-day shower, 631 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Nissekollen Park. Vladimír Coubal was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sasu Laiho and Fabio Fadda. Nidarheim tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. The following players took the field: Lynggaard - Engebretsen, Pacella, Inola, Carlson - Grier, van Kan, Theodorsen - Budia, Marín Marín, Bruhn.

Halvmaraton decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Starters: Avendaño - Kjempenes, Szwejkowski, Johannesen - Hermülheim, Ceglarek, Fournier, Jessen - Olsson, Fure, Carlsson.

Nidarheim saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Halvmaraton used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. 2 minutes into the game, H. Ceglarek had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. After 6 minutes, Halvmaraton's H. Ceglarek made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Nidarheim were close to equalising with a spectacular free kick by K. van Kan after 28 minutes, but M. Avendaño made a great save, tipping it to a corner. The referee signalled a penalty 36 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. B. Fure knocked it home to make the score 0 - 2. The players of Halvmaraton now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. With 40 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed W. Szwejkowski of Halvmaraton to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3. 41 minutes into the game, Nidarheim seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to inadequate. With 42 minutes played, B. Fure nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. I. Inola finished off the counterattack of Nidarheim from the left rather easily, making the score 1 - 3. W. Engebretsen of Nidarheim received a yellow card after 44 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3. Halvmaraton enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 82 percent of possession.

A review of the gameplan helped Nidarheim get back to a solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Nidarheim's T. Lynggaard was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes. B. Svartdahl-Jahr was given a chance to change things around. Halvmaraton had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. After 66 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave P. Carlsson a chance to increase the lead for Halvmaraton, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 4. The referee showed Halvmaraton's L. Olsson the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. T. Carlson of Nidarheim had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. T. Aaserud came in to finish the match. K. van Kan became the new Nidarheim captain. 71 minutes in, Nidarheim appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. With 75 minutes played, the Nidarheim coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. T. Tøftum came on, K. van Kan had to leave the fray. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, M. Theodorsen took over the role of being the Nidarheim captain. 77 minutes into the game, Nidarheim had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to poor. G. Fournier was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. 85 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 5 as B. Fure finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Nidarheim's T. Tøftum got himself booked for a foul. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit W. Engebretsen just fine. L. Olsson received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 89 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 6. The Halvmaraton fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Halvmaraton, with 89 percent of the ball.

Nidarheim's top performer was clearly J. Budia. T. Aaserud on the other hand, had a terrible day. Halvmaraton's best player was R. Hermülheim. B. Kjempenes turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 6.
