3001 fans braved the pouring rain at
't slachthuis.
Riccardo Rizzo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Leo Luiz Loefen and
Julian Steinbichler.
brainboys started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
Lineup: van Teylingen - Sihota, Blog - Amirbekov, van Schaik, Zagorakis, Capuano, Stepanskiy - Naldi, Agudo, Yaslam.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for tinauzer.
They fielded: Lien - Laxdehn, Ullstein - Ihssen, Zalas, Köb, Hemmilä, Lane - Scattina, Adorson, Zosulis.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of tinauzer's
H. Laxdehn after 15 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
A. Zosulis was, after 17 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
C. van Teylingen made the save.
21 minutes into the game,
A. Yaslam came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
C. Ihssen got himself booked. The manager of tinauzer was not happy.
30 minutes in, and brainboys were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when
A. Zagorakis picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper.
After 34 minutes, the tinauzer coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
R. Köb off the field.
U. Uranus took his place.
A. Zosulis would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
F. Rajewski entered the game for tinauzer as the match clock showed 34 minutes.
R. Sihota of brainboys was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
They were singing the praises of
A. Yaslam 36 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to brainboys.
Halftime score was 2 - 1.
brainboys had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.
brainboys solidified their lead at the 48 minute mark, as
E. Amirbekov dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 1.
With 51 minutes played, brainboys put themselves up 4 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
A. Yaslam, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Confident in their lead, brainboys's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
It was a bad day for the usually speedy
R. Sihota. The mud seemed to slow him down.
M. Scattina showed why he is feared on the counterattack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for tinauzer after 58 minutes to make the score 4 - 2.
B. van Schaik didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
brainboys managed to extend their lead to 5 - 2 when
Y. Stepanskiy cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
brainboys enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
brainboys's best player was
A. Yaslam.
A. Agudo on the other hand, had a terrible day.
tinauzer's top performer was clearly
F. Rajewski.
M. Ullstein turned in a dismal performance, however.
