El Cantor Eneas Perdomo, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Ingo Zimmer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Hannes Muschwitz and
Yohei Kasamatsu.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for InterVen.

chila started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.

InterVen displayed their ability to play creatively.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 2 minutes into the match, and
P. van de Corput wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
InterVen's
F. Córdova made an attempt at equalising 4 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound.
B. Villegas made a superb strike after 24 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner.
After 25 minutes of play,
E. Lastra evened things up for InterVen with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1.
InterVen fans held their breath as
I. Greco scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 2 - 1!
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
U. Knill from chila a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 33 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Halftime score was 2 - 1.
Possession in this half belonged to InterVen, who controlled the ball 69 percent of the time.
52 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
E. Lastra broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for InterVen.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in InterVen's
D. Lameda increasing the lead to 4 - 1.
The bench was restless, and with 66 minutes passed chila's coach gave
J. Sig Pedersen the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
M. Sanders reluctantly left the field.
InterVen's
D. Lameda increased the lead to 5 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 66 minutes.
By now, the players in InterVen felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
InterVen put in a good effort on the right, but
A. Chamarreta saw his volley fly wide of the mark 69 minutes into the game.
The home side's
B. Bielsa came close to extending the lead 80 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
B. Jensen managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
With 82 minutes played,
J. Diez of InterVen fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by InterVen, with 70 percent of the ball.
F. Córdova performed admirably for InterVen.
J. Viloria on the other hand, had a terrible day.
chila's top performer was clearly
P. van de Corput.
B. Jensen was a disappointment, however.
