22-08-2012 12.25
Due to an all-day shower, 1662 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
SACYR STADIUM ARENA.
Maxence Canet was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Isak D. Göransson and
Alfons Bax.
CORNELLA started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Kryszak - Romero Gámez, Urraburu, García de la Plata - Guignard, Orsós, Volovski, Pinyana, Morell - Ermigarate, Errasti.
Rottweiler tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination.
The following players took the field: Namysł - Osterath, Bogner, Deblasio, Carvalhos - Fruzza, Zwanzinger, Fornero - Marcassoli, Roccato, Malagola.
CORNELLA tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
Some great play up the middle by CORNELLA led to a chance for
J. Romero Gámez to score after 10 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
With 14 minutes played,
G. Bogner of Rottweiler fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
It might be a while before the fans see CORNELLA's
M. Morell again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 27 minute mark. He was replaced by
H. Sirola.
After a fine move down the middle
E. Volovski nearly gave the home side a goal after 34 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
It was a bad day for the usually speedy
D. Malagola. The mud seemed to slow him down.
It was 0 - 0 at the break.
CORNELLA enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Rottweiler substitution.
T. Pitkäaho came on for
F. Namysł.
The Rottweiler captaincy was handed to
E. Fruzza.
Rottweiler's
D. Malagola was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 47 minutes.
A. Errasti rose like a salmon, and was very close to scoring with a header after a corner, but sent the ball just over the bar.
Rottweiler took the lead after 55 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
D. Malagola placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
Unsportsmanlike behaviour by
D. Malagola rendered him his second booking of the match, and Rottweiler had to finish the game with a reduced squad.
After 78 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
M. Fornero a chance to increase the lead for Rottweiler, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2.
CORNELLA had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.
E. Volovski performed admirably for CORNELLA.
J. Romero Gámez was a disappointment, however.
Most important Rottweiler player was
E. Fruzza.
On the other hand,
P. Marcassoli's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 2.
