2859 spectators had come to Buraco da Onça this cloudy day. Wei Si-Mut was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Niels Ebbe Povlsen and Rickard Cedergård. ZIUL had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. They fielded: Gheorghe - Amador, Amorim, Frost, Negrão - Cagigao, Garibaldi, Castanheda, Stefanino, Staudinger - Zatorzak.

Schone started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Lineup: Eftaras - Cadotte, Bontekoe, Negão, Berk - Visanen, Toonstra, Nieuwenbroek, Holme - Biddau, Karabeg.

ZIUL took the lead, 1 - 0, after a penalty 12 minutes into the match. S. Stefanino scored from the penalty spot. ZIUL put themselves up 2 - 0 when F. Staudinger broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Confident in their lead, ZIUL's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. ZIUL were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 21 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by S. Stefanino. 3 - 0 for the home side. M. Garibaldi was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, ZIUL's A. Amorim managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 4 - 0 The referee showed Schone's A. Holme the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A loud groan was heard from the fans of ZIUL, as B. Frost left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. R. Van Looy took his place on the field. After 26 minutes, S. Stefanino sent the corner kick right to F. Staudinger who headed it sharply past the keeper. 5 - 0! The score became 6 - 0 at 30 minutes into the game, when ZIUL were given a penalty which S. Stefanino blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for S. Stefanino. It was 6 - 0 at the break. ZIUL claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 73 percent.

A well-executed free kick by S. Stefanino after 50 minutes made it 7 - 0 for ZIUL. With the clock showing 55 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Schone resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by E. Negão in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. The away team improved the scoreline to 7 - 1, as A. Holme struck home, set up well by a play on the left 81 minutes into the match. ZIUL had most of the ball, with 71 percent of possession.

ZIUL's top performer was clearly C. Cagigao. R. Van Looy on the other hand, had a terrible day. L. Bontekoe performed admirably for Schone. On the other hand, E. Negão's play was disheartening. The match ends 7 - 1.
