(394303378)

21-08-2012 18.30
The 3333 fans in attendance at
Weserstadion were roasting in the hot sun.
Norberto Nolasco was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Allesandro de Groot and
Teofil Szuścik.
DHL tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination.
The following players took the field: Sörensson - Kissing, Szabó, Simla, Geltl - Klapa, Schoepfel, Ungnad - Makridakis, Bansemeier, Leick.
Kroton77 had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation.
Starters: Castellini - Bonandini, Bradl, Pujol, Arni, Cecchetti - Bottacchi, Ascani, Mandorlato, Lipok - Di Grancio.
24 minutes into the game, DHL wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
T. Sörensson gave
U. Atakol a quick hug as he left the field.
E. Makridakis enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again.
After 30 minutes, DHL were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
M. Leick did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
After 31 minutes, the defensive line of Kroton77 created a counterattack through the middle that gave
C. Di Grancio a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
Kroton77 had to make a substitution after 32 minutes.
C. Pujol limped off the field and was replaced by
F. Bellantone.
A. Szabó was very close to giving DHL the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 35 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0.
DHL claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
The referee showed DHL's
T. Simla the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
After 62 minutes,
A. Szabó sent the corner kick right to
M. Klapa who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 0!
Things were deteriorating for the away team as DHL scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
E. Makridakis after 72 minutes.
By now, the players in DHL felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
DHL enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
Most important DHL player was
E. Makridakis.
R. Geltl turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Kroton77 player was without a doubt
F. Mandorlato.
However,
F. Bellantone made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 0.
