Football 1 - 2 Velimir
(394304186)

22-08-2012 12.05
Due to an all-day shower, 719 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
Nou Camp d'Inca.
Elias Dienes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Iacopo Ciappi and
Hendrik Lisker.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Football.
Lineup: Felip - Maire, Austria, Bellavista, Pizarro - Sarges, Bock, Kriegsheim, Steriu - Lösche, Ustara.
Velimir had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Montaño - Uña, Berategui, Walenciuk - Canoura, Chorniy, Dias, Pulju, Esmatges - Guevara, Callau.
Velimir clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
After 12 minutes, Velimir's
P. Canoura made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Velimir, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
J. Pulju was, after 12 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
E. Felip made the save.
13 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
A. Berategui finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
The players of Velimir now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
A. Chorniy looked to be heading one way when he unexpectedly passed the ball to
P. Canoura. The move caught everyone off-guard, including his teammate, who panicked and kicked the ball out of play by accident.
It was obvious that team Velimir had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
The home crowd cheered when, after 29 minutes,
A. Chorniy's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
Thighs bulging,
A. Berategui charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.
Velimir claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Football's
S. Bock was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 60 minutes.
A. Bujeniţă was given a chance to change things around.
With 60 minutes played, the Football coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
A. Elosúa came on,
E. Felip had to leave the fray.
The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Football's coach gave
M. Dascăl the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
P. Ustara reluctantly left the field.
Football's
Q. Maire got himself booked for a foul.
Velimir players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
Football's
D. Kriegsheim got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 1 - 2.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Velimir, with 65 percent of the ball.
Most important Football player was
M. Dascăl.
D. Kriegsheim on the other hand, had a terrible day.
A. Chorniy performed admirably for Velimir.
A. Montaño was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 1 - 2.
