1006 spectators had found their way to
Mattanza Vulcano, despite the heavy rain.

Mattanza could have put themselves ahead after 21 minutes but
M. Schöngeising missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right.
Mattanza took the lead 29 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
M. Presciuttini elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Mattanza tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
M. Schöngeising slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 0, 33 minutes into the game.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
E. Bies squirmed through their central defence after 34 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0.
Mattanza claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 78 percent.
78 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
M. Schöngeising broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Mattanza.
The players of Mattanza now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
V. Hortezuelo.
Mattanza put themselves up 5 - 0 when
M. Presciuttini broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
After 83 minutes,
L. Yakimenko put Mattanza ahead 6 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
V. Hortezuelo of Mattanza was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Mattanza's
M. Schöngeising saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 85 minutes.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
C. Guarini got himself booked. The manager of World was not happy.
After 86 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
L. Yakimenko gave the Mattanza supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 7 - 0.
Thighs bulging,
A. Zecchini charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Mattanza's
M. Labtsou increasing the lead to 8 - 0.
Mattanza had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.
Mattanza's best player was
M. Schöngeising.
On the other hand,
M. Presciuttini's play was disheartening.
Most important World player was
S. Racano.
G. Mariconti turned in a dismal performance, however.
