Clear skies welcomed the 3682 spectators who had made their way to
La Tana dell'Orso.
Nikolay Kulikov was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Lev Cheboksarov and
Antti Pohjamo.
Oracolo tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
Lineup: Májek - Galdrappo, Romanato - Crevola, Pirlo, Chi Yuen, Mexía, Paridi - Villaschi, Bonivento, Boixadós.
Kanslooz had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Fassini - Meister, Harders, Schimscheimer - Rabinovich, Oszajca, Grömling, Milijaš - Riad, Nalewajk, Damoiseaux.
P. Paridi always provides an aerial threat at corners, and with 3 minutes gone, he demonstrated this, outjumping his marker, then letting out an anguished howl as his powerful header went narrowly wide.
After a fine move down the middle
S. Villaschi nearly gave the home side a goal after 4 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
D. Rabinovich made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 32 minutes into the match.
S. Nalewajk bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for Kanslooz. 0 - 1.
The home crowd was not impressed when
E. Oszajca came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 38 minutes. Kanslooz were now up 0 - 2.
Confident in their lead, Kanslooz's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Oracolo's
C. Pirlo got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 1 - 2.
G. Meister increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 3.
It was 1 - 3 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to Oracolo, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.
S. Nalewajk wanted to play on, but the Kanslooz coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by
R. Jongeling.
With 49 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
D. Rabinovich of Kanslooz to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 4.
50 minutes into the game Oracolo broke through on the left wing and
N. Boixadós managed to reduce the lead to 2 - 4.
G. Harders left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 58 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
J. Pegacho was the replacement.
Oracolo's
C. Pirlo found himself alone on the left side 60 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper!
Oracolo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
The most dominating Oracolo player was without a doubt
M. Crevola.
On the other hand,
M. Májek's play was disheartening.
Most important Kanslooz player was
N. Riad.
E. Schimscheimer on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 4.
