It had rained all day, but 592 hardy fans still made it out to
Burgas Arena.
Noel Molen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Yannik Schmatterig and
Ştefan-Robert Căruntu.
Burgas decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Yordanov - Gerovski, Ashikov, Savakov - Eroğlu, Van Geel, Grębowski, Stoykov, Deyanov - Rangelov, Puev.
Poznański started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Costaggiu - Matrola, Bondziński, Grabowski - Grzebinoga, Sitarski, Adamiec, Mahdavi, Arnaud - Duro, Ciontescu.

After 9 minutes of play,
D. Savakov gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right.
With 21 minutes played, Burgas put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
D. Rangelov, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
It might be a while before the fans see Burgas's
D. Rangelov again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 31 minute mark. He was replaced by
Y. Sarıbay.
32 minutes in, Poznański appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
passable.
It was obvious that Poznański had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
35 minutes into the match, Poznański replied and reduced the lead to 2 - 1.
A. Grzebinoga scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left.
After 36 minutes Burgas's
Y. Sarıbay contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
Poznański's right side looked dangerous 40 minutes in, but
G. Yordanov made a good save on
A. Mahdavi's hard shot to the top corner.
With 42 minutes played, Burgas's
D. Ashikov almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
Burgas's
A. Puev left the field after 43 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
A. Stumbov.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1.
Possession in this half belonged to Burgas, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
During the break, Poznański's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
solid organisation.
With 46 minutes played, the Poznański coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
T. Wrzesień came on,
V. Duro had to leave the fray.
Poznański needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes
A. Grzebinoga made way for
J. Hougaard.
Burgas made it 3 - 1 as
A. Stumbov got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to
M. Grębowski who whipped a low drive in off the far post.
After 54 minutes, Burgas raised their score by one when
M. Deyanov's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
S. Eroğlu. 4 - 1.
Burgas put themselves up 5 - 1 when
D. Ashikov broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Confident in their lead, Burgas's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Coming in on the left,
T. Wrzesień did everything right to get a goal for Poznański after 62 minutes, but his finishing shot was stabbed clear by the keeper.
After 67 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Poznański found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
solid.
69 minutes into the game, Poznański's attack got through on the right, but
T. Wrzesień couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms.
78 minutes into the game, Poznański seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
weak.
Burgas enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
The most dominating Burgas player was without a doubt
G. Stoykov.
On the other hand,
D. Ashikov's play was disheartening.
Poznański's top performer was clearly
W. Adamiec.
However,
G. Costaggiu made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 5 - 1.
