Trasferti came up alone against C. Gutiérrez de Solar who managed a block. Fenerbahce_Cumhuriy's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 35 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from A. Nechita, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. T. Raappana's speed was clear to see after 36 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released J. van Gessel who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 2 - 0. fc-copains fought on and, after 40 minutes, P. Filippelli was able to reduce the deficit to 2 - 1 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with an incredibly clever chip. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave I. Leriche from Fenerbahce_Cumhuriy a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 42 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Due to a severely mistimed tackle, A. Di Irio of fc-copains spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to fc-copains, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

fc-copains's C. Trasferti set up a perfect opportunity for S. Vallière, but the latter failed to score. The pressing tactics used by Fenerbahce_Cumhuriy were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. With 66 minutes played, İ. Kudsi of Fenerbahce_Cumhuriy fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. A. Filippelli almost scored the equaliser for fc-copains after 78 minutes, but C. Gutiérrez de Solar made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Fenerbahce_Cumhuriy coach let F. Facchin replace S. Bricout after 89 minutes. The Fenerbahce_Cumhuriy captaincy was handed to J. von Ellm. A. Sposato wanted to play on, but the Fenerbahce_Cumhuriy coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by L. Bán. fc-copains claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
