1097 punters turned up at
BOLZANO F.C. ARENA, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Hugo Miscopein was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ákos Lattmann and
Clifford Kingston.
BOLZANO decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Zechner - Juan, Trobo, Burgo - Val, Ovando Solis, Masana, Guia, Guillamet - Ezquieta, Cerreda.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for ADF.
Starters: Kulczyk - Jover, Chailleux - Salas, Orellana, Garabalde, Tiala, Betanzos - Villa, Buylla, Woog.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
A. Garabalde should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting BOLZANO a goal with 9 minutes of the match played.
After 13 minutes, ADF were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
M. Tiala did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
With 14 minutes played
J. Burgo almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors'
F. Kulczyk was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball.
ADF's
I. Villa managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 19 minutes. 0 - 1.
With 20 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
X. Salas of ADF to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2.
The home crowd cheered when, after 25 minutes,
Y. Woog's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
27 minutes into the game, ADF seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
inadequate.
Halftime score was 0 - 2.
ADF enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
During the break, ADF's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
solid organisation.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
Y. Woog would have put ADF up another goal 50 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
56 minutes into the game, ADF had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.
Y. Woog left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
Q. Llop was the replacement.
With 77 minutes played, ADF put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
I. Villa.
Q. Llop received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 86 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The ADF fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
Confident in their lead, ADF's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
ADF had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession.
Most important BOLZANO player was
P. Ezquieta.
However,
L. Juan made a disastrous appearance.
ADF's best player was
Q. Llop.
F. Kulczyk was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 4.
