2543 fans braved the pouring rain at
FunkyPunky Stadium.
André Cardoso was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Vincent Michon and
Philip Winterberg.
Hoolanders tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Comito - Beato, Rodà, Belloso, Borinaga - Fàbrega, Bernabéu, Piñero, Herrán - Medina Paz, Sendra.
TUCTUC decided to use a 2-5-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Michallet - Cibis, Kuznik - Renard, Grottkauer, Pandžić, Szcześniak, Delaive - Lundby, Lettinga, Mader.
The wings were the focus of most of TUCTUC's attacks today.
With 3 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
B. Pandžić put the ball away for 0 - 1.
After 12 minutes of game time,
V. Renard had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
M. Comito was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
F. Herrán from Hoolanders a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 31 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Some fine movement on the left led to a TUCTUC goal after 37 minutes, making it 0 - 2.
A. Mader was noted down as the scorer.
Thighs bulging,
T. Bernabéu charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain.
It was obvious that TUCTUC had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
With 40 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
B. Pandžić of TUCTUC to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3.
Halftime score was 0 - 3.
Possession was split evenly between the teams.
After 48 minutes, TUCTUC's
A. Mader burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4.
TUCTUC had to make a substitution after 57 minutes.
V. Renard limped off the field and was replaced by
J. Marques.
F. Herrán did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
A drive down the left side allowed
J. Lundby to get in close and score another goal for TUCTUC after 76 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 5.
Hoolanders's
J. Belloso was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 81 minutes.
After 83 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
W. Szcześniak a chance to increase the lead for TUCTUC, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6.
Confident in their lead, TUCTUC's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
85 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 7 as
A. Mader finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
A. Mader.
S. Lettinga was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions.
A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
J. Marques after 87 minutes, and prevented TUCTUC from going up another goal.
Possession in this half belonged to TUCTUC, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.
The most dominating Hoolanders player was without a doubt
R. Medina Paz.
However,
F. Piñero made a disastrous appearance.
TUCTUC's top performer was clearly
J. Lundby.
On the other hand,
G. Kuznik's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 7.
