Dark skies made the crowd of 3127 at
Vacuumpresse a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Hans Erling Just Frandsen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Kitti Maneerin and
Kuldar Onnu.
Stechbeitel tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
They fielded: Wichenburg - Ostheimer, Kaule, Kinskofer - Tavares, Weissglass, Conrad, Crenzin-Götz - Zeeuws, Balabanov, Magro.
Tartiflan decided to use a 2-5-3 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Hueting - Fortis, Cavina - Brito Costa, San Cucufate, Triani, Torres, Conci - Zdravchev, Arabaolaza, Ram de Liñan.
Tartiflan used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field.
As the 5 minute mark approached, the Tartiflan coach decided it was time for a substitution.
W. Hueting reluctantly made way for
A. Bellvehí on the pitch.
V. Balabanov caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 10 minutes. This gave Stechbeitel the 1 - 0 lead.
Tartiflan had to make a substitution after 26 minutes.
E. Ram de Liñan limped off the field and was replaced by
M. Sanmartiño.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Stechbeitel to 2 - 0 as
V. Balabanov finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
Stechbeitel's
L. Conrad saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 40 minutes.
Stechbeitel solidified their lead at the 41 minute mark, as
E. Zeeuws dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
42 minutes into the game,
B. Weissglass had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
J. Hamm.
Stechbeitel's
K. Crenzin-Götz was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
E. Magro managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 4 - 0 after 43 minutes.
By now, the players in Stechbeitel felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
The pressing tactics used by Tartiflan were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times.
Halftime score was 4 - 0.
Stechbeitel had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.
The Stechbeitel free kick 56 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
E. Magro, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 5 - 0!
Tartiflan managed to reduce the score to 5 - 1 as
R. Torres finished off a well-played combination from the left, easily carving through the defence.
Stechbeitel managed to extend their lead to 6 - 1 when
K. Crenzin-Götz cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
With 63 minutes played, Stechbeitel put themselves up 7 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
A. Ostheimer, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Stechbeitel scored another to make it 8 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
E. Zeeuws after 66 minutes.
A bit later, Tartiflan's
M. San Cucufate easily reduced the lead to 8 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence.
Stechbeitel increased the lead as
K. Crenzin-Götz struck to make the score 9 - 2 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
Stechbeitel enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
Most important Stechbeitel player was
E. Magro.
H. Wichenburg on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Tartiflan player was without a doubt
N. Zdravchev.
A. Bellvehí turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 9 - 2.
