It had rained all day, but 723 hardy fans still made it out to
TösseVallen.
Florindo Zaffaroni was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Michael Sunesson and
Steen Rud Seeberg.
Flöga decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: Ros - Hansson, Nessflod, Malmerberg, Kihlhall - Blunder, San Martín, Thorlind, Beó - Karlbeck, Vinterwald.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Gus.
The following players took the field: Knölhall - Torbjärnsson, Robertsson, Edvinsson, Wahlquist - Johansson, Berntsson, Åkesson, Jansson - Trifunović, Delissen.
F. Hansson's lack of experience almost gave Gus a goal after 4 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
They were singing the praises of
T. Thorlind 12 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Flöga.
T. Wahlquist didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
A great save by keeper
W. Knölhall after 20 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
D. Beó struck from the left with a real cannonball.
After 27 minutes Gus tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
L. Trifunović's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
Flöga's
T. Karlbeck swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
With 38 minutes played,
P. Åkesson of Gus fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0.
Flöga claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 70 percent.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Flöga scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
J. Vinterwald after 53 minutes.
The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
J. Berntsson.
J. Vinterwald could have increased the lead after 71 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
T. Blunder increased the lead for Flöga to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
After 75 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
D. Beó might have resulted in another goal for Flöga. However,
W. Knölhall made a spectacular save.
Gus had to make a substitution after 79 minutes.
T. Edvinsson limped off the field and was replaced by
F. Hållberg.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Flöga, with 66 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Flöga player was without a doubt
B. San Martín.
On the other hand,
T. Karlbeck's play was disheartening.
Most important Gus player was
T. Delissen.
However,
L. Trifunović made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 0.
