Clouds darkened the skies at PUAS COLISSEUM as 3921 spectators turned up for the match. Kasper Horst was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Etienne Amato and Orin Noy. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for PUINHO. Starters: Besora - Kruijt, Pérez-Serrano, Vizcaya - Forrellat, Notopoulos, Calabaza, Yoked - Gáspár, Carnicer, Ventosa.

gigante tactics involved an interesting 2-5-2 combination. Lineup: Espensen - El-Rashid, Rabis - Juul, Della Giovanna, Presilli, Silberbauer, Smidemann - Smith, Bisgaard.

PUINHO focused on getting players in position for long range shots. gigante displayed their ability to play creatively. 1 minutes into the game, gigante wanted to bring some new energy to their game. P. Espensen gave A. Aksoy a quick hug as he left the field. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 6 minutes into the match left gigante's A. Rabis completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. The home crowd cheered when, after 11 minutes, P. Juul's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. The gigante players could smell victory in the air. J. Smith wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for U. Egede after 24 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave B. Gáspár from PUINHO a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 25 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! L. Smidemann of gigante had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. B. Harning came in to finish the match. With 29 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed M. Della Giovanna of gigante to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. After 32 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as gigante found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. gigante's P. Juul was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 37 minutes. PUINHO didn't give in and with 39 minutes played P. Forrellat was able to make the score 1 - 2 after an attack on the right. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. PUINHO claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of gigante was able to get his message across, and raised gigante's organisation to solid. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 61 minutes into the match, an alert B. Gáspár bagged the ball for PUINHO, levelling the score to 2 - 2. Some great play up the middle by PUINHO led to a chance for P. Carnicer to score after 63 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. gigante's S. El-Rashid got himself booked for a foul. The referee showed gigante's U. Egede the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In a fantastic display of determination, PUINHO's P. Carnicer forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. gigante took the lead after 76 minutes making the score 2 - 3. M. Della Giovanna placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. 79 minutes into the game, gigante had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. The bench was restless, and with 81 minutes passed PUINHO's coach gave S. Vinardell the opportunity the player had been hoping for. B. Gáspár reluctantly left the field. 81 minutes into the match, PUINHO's J. Ventosa maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 3 - 3. 83 minutes in, gigante appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by PUINHO, with 58 percent of the ball.

Still tied after 90 minutes, the match continued into extra time. During the break, gigante's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of gigante's A. Rabis after 92 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 3 - 4 lead. This put an end to extra time, making gigante the winners. PUINHO's best player was S. Notopoulos. Á. Pérez-Serrano was a disappointment, however. A. Silberbauer performed admirably for gigante. A. Rabis turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 4.
