Rinsumageest had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Thomas - Wormhoudt, Hakkens, Zwart - Olavarrieta, Ştirbu, Donselaar, Falkena, van Kasteel - Voetelink, van Rossem.

M. Di Gioia's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 25 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to A. Abuksis who knocked it in for Ghentizm. 1 - 0! A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Ghentizm's U. Tønder increasing the lead to 2 - 0. J. Andreis slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. With 39 minutes played, L. Falkena of Rinsumageest fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Cheers filled the stadium as A. Abuksis broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Ghentizm. 42 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as M. Teixidor broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Ghentizm. Ghentizm solidified their lead at the 44 minute mark, as U. Tønder dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Ghentizm lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. It was 5 - 0 at the break. Ghentizm had most of the ball, with 64 percent of possession.

M. Teixidor increased the lead for Ghentizm to 6 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! C. Direnç increased Ghentizm's lead to 7 - 0 with a penalty spot cannonball. 63 minutes into the match, Rinsumageest replied and reduced the lead to 7 - 1. L. Falkena scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. Ghentizm managed to extend their lead to 8 - 1 when M. Di Gioia cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Ghentizm's C. Direnç struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 9 - 1 after 71 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Ghentizm coach let J. Andersson replace V. Chenal after 75 minutes. Ghentizm enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

Most important Ghentizm player was A. Abuksis. However, F. Hankus made a disastrous appearance. N. Donselaar performed admirably for Rinsumageest. L. Thomas turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 9 - 1.
