Dark skies made the crowd of 2224 at Comunale Stella Polare di Ostia a little nervous, but the rain held off. Eugenio Martínez Portoles was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Florian Dehning and Miquel Biosca. A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Ostia. MetaLions were relying on their ability to counter-attack. With 5 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as B. Yazid flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Ostia put themselves up 2 - 0 when J. Farías broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. After 10 minutes, the Ostia players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game. Ostia solidified their lead at the 14 minute mark, as A. Darwish dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. The head of J. Hoekema connected with a corner kick after 20 minutes, and the ball ended up with A. Darwish of Ostia who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 4 - 0. 31 minutes in, Ostia appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. After 32 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. Hoekema gave the Ostia supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 0. Confident in their lead, Ostia's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 41 minutes into the game, Ostia seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak level of organisation. J. Hoekema left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 44 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. M. Bruzzese was the replacement. Halftime score was 5 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ostia, with 67 percent of the ball.

During the break, Ostia's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to passable organisation. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Ostia coach let A. Bertilsson replace L. Rabanal after 46 minutes. The Ostia players could smell victory in the air. N. Bassani wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for H. Schimmel after 47 minutes. H. Mauricio was handed the Ostia captain's armband. With 58 minutes played, Ostia's M. Bruzzese almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. MetaLions's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 59 minutes gone, but R. Riesco's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. 70 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as M. Bruzzese broke through, making the score 6 - 0 for Ostia. MetaLions's R. Riesco got himself booked for a foul. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. A. Darwish squirmed through their central defence after 86 minutes, increasing the lead to 7 - 0. By then A. Darwish had scored three goals - a hat trick! Unfortunately for Ostia, C. Mazzalai suffered a concussion after 88 minutes and had to be taken for tests. The coach had his head in his hands after realising he could not send a replacement onto the pitch, and the team had to continue a man short. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Ostia to 8 - 0 as M. Bruzzese finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After 89 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Ostia found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. Ostia enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.

B. Yazid performed admirably for Ostia. However, R. Gabella made a disastrous appearance. MetaLions's top performer was clearly J. Masson. J. Catrilef was a disappointment, however. The match ends 8 - 0.
