1820 fans braved the pouring rain at Stadium de Coconuts. Robert Dyrhall was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Michal Jakubač and Tomer Arnon. Coconuts had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Starters: Andrews - Duffield, Galea, Cooksley, Wilkie - Zhang, Griffiths, Sattler, Kosztelnik, Dortmund - Steveniers.

Ethnologia tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Gioi - Mathe, Szappanos, Altuve - Bernaert, Kabinger, Statz, Zilz, Muntada - Breitbarth, Weingarten.

After 21 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Coconuts found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to weak. Down the middle came D. Bernaert, making a fantastic play that nearly had Ethnologia take the lead after 31 minutes, but C. Andrews preserved the tie. Coconuts could have put themselves ahead after 34 minutes but N. Steveniers missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Some things can only be learned through experience, and U. Duffield should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Ethnologia a goal with 44 minutes of the match played. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Ethnologia, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

During the break, Coconuts's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to passable organisation. C. Galea would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. M. Cusack entered the game for Coconuts as the match clock showed 46 minutes. 52 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but G. Muntada, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. Coconuts fans held their breath as H. Zhang scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! 66 minutes into the game, Coconuts seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak level of organisation. After 69 minutes, Ethnologia's D. Bernaert fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! Coconuts put in a good effort on the right, but S. Kosztelnik saw his volley fly wide of the mark 75 minutes into the game. Coconuts's M. Griffiths left the field after 77 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was A. Gross. Coming from the right, K. Sattler almost managed to score another goal for Coconuts, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Ethnologia claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

N. Steveniers performed admirably for Coconuts. On the other hand, K. Sattler's play was disheartening. Ethnologia's top performer was clearly J. Breitbarth. D. Bernaert turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 0.
