Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 3972 at
La Plaza Arena today.
Alexandre Guerin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ciro Del Gaudio and
Juan José Anguita.
Plaza decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Frydman - Gherman, Gudar, Le Gall, Dietz - Ereño, Garategui, Velarde, Arroyo, García Ferreros - Lebreton.
Krokstadulvene started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Myllykoski - Nymo, Modok, Friheim - Del Borrello, Hentsch, Kuittinen, Johannessen, Helfendorf - Hval, Pek.

C. Lebreton rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0!
Coming through the middle
O. Hval almost scored the equaliser for Krokstadulvene after 11 minutes, but
P. Frydman made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.
C. Lebreton increased the lead for Plaza to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Krokstadulvene's counterattack was impressive and was only stopped by a shocking foul. Somehow, the referee's cards remained in his pocket - a terrible decision!
W. Helfendorf's resulting free kick was easily saved by the keeper.
Halftime score was 2 - 0.
Plaza enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.
Plaza's
E. Arroyo swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
Krokstadulvene were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 63 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to
A. Del Borrello, who smashed it home to make the score 2 - 1.
Plaza's
A. Velarde increased the lead to 3 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 71 minutes.
T. Kuittinen received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 72 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
Plaza put themselves up 4 - 1 when
A. Velarde broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
F. Garategui wanted to play on, but the Plaza coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 73 minutes into the game by
A. Gúnuz.
The Plaza players could smell victory in the air.
R. Ereño wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
Ó. Verdeja after 74 minutes.
After this, you could see that the players of Plaza were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
After 77 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
A. Velarde might have resulted in another goal for Plaza. However,
J. Myllykoski made a spectacular save.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Plaza, with 70 percent of the ball.
Plaza's best player was
A. Gúnuz.
On the other hand,
C. Gherman's play was disheartening.
J. Johannessen performed admirably for Krokstadulvene.
J. Nymo turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 4 - 1.
