Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 5033 at InterSolar today. Fortunato Massa was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Henri Kardolus and Morten Sævik. SpaceRangers tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. Lineup: Anikin - Žigić, Jacobsen, Turchinovich, Schwizer, Kafri - Korolkov, Meskhi, Bobylkov, Koshcheev - Charino.

Wisla k had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. The following players took the field: McLoughlin - Roosenboom, Koçay, McDonald, Zapata, Colley - Obrátil, Chętkowski, Fitzgerald - Gomes Rocha, Werner.

Wisla k mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. After 1 minutes, the SpaceRangers coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving E. Kafri off the field. B. Pivetti took his place. 9 minutes into the game Wisla k managed a counterattack, but S. Roosenboom took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. Given a free kick close to the byline, Wisla k tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let A. Gomes Rocha slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 1, 22 minutes into the game. SpaceRangers had to make a substitution after 27 minutes. V. Koshcheev limped off the field and was replaced by I. Garev. 36 minutes in, and SpaceRangers were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when P. Turchinovich picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. V. Korolkov's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert J. Charino was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for SpaceRangers. 2 - 1. The referee showed SpaceRangers's P. Turchinovich the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 43 minutes in, SpaceRangers's T. Schwizer received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to SpaceRangers, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

Z. Chętkowski levelled the score for Wisla k, making it 2 - 2 on a free kick that went in by way of the right post. SpaceRangers's J. Charino tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. D. Anikin looked great 64 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' A. Gomes Rocha. Wisla k's S. McDonald placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but S. Roosenboom couldn't finish. With 80 minutes played, A. Gomes Rocha of Wisla k fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. SpaceRangers claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. SpaceRangers had a good opportunity to take the lead as P. Jacobsen came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of B. McLoughlin. A. Gomes Rocha came close to putting the visiting team one up 94 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but D. Anikin managed to tip the ball to a corner. There was still no winner after 30 minutes of extra time so the teams had to select a lineup for a penalty shoot-out to settle the result.

SpaceRangers's V. Korolkov looked like he knew exactly where he wanted to put the ball, but unfortunately his shot went wide of the left hand post. Still 2 - 2. Oooh - how unlucky! Wisla k's J. Fitzgerald attempt hit the underside of the bar, but rebounded down into the grateful arms of D. Anikin. The score stays 2 - 2. SpaceRangers's I. Garev looked nervous even as he was putting the ball on the spot. He didn't take much of a run up, and his weak shot was easily saved by the keeper. Wisla k's B. McLoughlin didn't look like he was confident as he stepped up, and produced a badly struck penalty - right into the arms of D. Anikin. The score remained 2 - 2. Clearly nervous from the start, SpaceRangers's S. Bobylkov took a long run up, but could only blast the ball over the bar. The score remains 2 - 2. Wisla k's D. Werner coolly put the ball past D. Anikin. 2 - 3. SpaceRangers's D. Anikin made no mistake. B. McLoughlin didn't have a chance. 3 - 3. Wisla k's S. Zapata kept his cool as he faced down D. Anikin. His composure paid off as he scored easily for 3 - 4. SpaceRangers's S. Meskhi penalty shot was very well placed but B. McLoughlin went the right way, blocking it spectacularly. The score was still 3 - 4. Wisla k's S. Roosenboom, obviously having last minute doubts, produced a loose ball to the right post. Unfortunately D. Anikin made a premature move to the left and didn't make it back. New score: 3 - 5. The most dominating SpaceRangers player was without a doubt J. Charino. D. Anikin turned in a dismal performance, however. Wisla k's best player was S. McDonald. J. Fitzgerald on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 5.
