As one of the teams did not arrive in time for the agreed match, there was concern among parents and leaders that their bus had got lost on their way over. But the bus never showed, and the reason for the absence remained a mystery. The resourceful CHnill players searched the area for alternative opponents, and found them in a nearby school yard. The skies were cloudy, but it wasn't raining. The 209 spectators at Asicurdello today seemed reasonably pleased, at least with the weather. The 4-4-2 formation was the choice of CHnill. Starters: Borredon - Arco, Palmirani, Casolino, Ratti - Passacantando, Ragona, Lambertino, Cividino - Aschettino, Baruffaldi.

The boys of Daring started the game in a 4-4-2 formation. The lucky starting players: Striano - De Girolamo, Sugarotti, Inzaghi, Duroni - Maconi, Panigati, Arcone, Bulzaga - Calamai, Gastaldello.

CHnill pushed through the central midfield, lead by E. Baruffaldi who also had a fine chance to give his team the go-ahead goal after 2 minutes. However, the shot hit the crossbar. CHnill's counterattack was timed well, but the ensuing free kick by G. Ratti was easily controlled by the keeper. CHnill almost seemed to have a working tactic this day, purposefully working their way up the right of the field with passes and clever runs. After 14 minutes, E. Baruffaldi got the opening he needed, overtaking an off-balance defender and sealing the 1 - 0 goal for the lead. E. Baruffaldi was all smiles as the CHnill coach thanked him for taking the score to 2 - 0, tousling his hair. After 26 minutes he had taken advantage of a good exchange of passes on the right and steered the ball into the net. Rather confident that the job now was done, CHnill's players started drawing back to secure the lead. What was N. Lambertino thinking? That's what everyone was thinking - and a few adults, who should know better, screamed out loud - after that very risky low cross inside the own defensive zone. Daring's S. Calamai stole the ball and struck it, but the finish was blocked. It was 2 - 0 at the break. CHnill pleased their coach greatly, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.

M. Cividino increased CHnill's lead to 3 - 0, smashing in a cross from the right. The referee showed CHnill's M. Palmirani the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Due to a mistimed tackle, S. Duroni of Daring spent some time writhing on the grass in agony. Then he got up and continued the game. CHnill congratulated themselves after the 4 - 0 goal, which meant they had increased their lead. G. Casolino came running from the right side and did not stop until he was standing inside the goal with the ball. CHnill solidified their lead at the 75 minute mark, as M. Palmirani maneuvered the ball through the central line of defence and clipped in the 5 - 0 goal. This half the CHnill boys hung on to the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

The spectators agreed that the most impressive boy in CHnill today had been E. Baruffaldi. L. Passacantando left the field with tears in his eyes, knowing he had been the worst player on his team. Daring's C. Maconi had a great game and was congratulated by his team mates. This lad could be going places! On the other hand, S. Sugarotti's performance hadn't been very good at all. The match ends with a 5 - 0 score.
