A group of 156 people showed up at
Dx Factor, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Jr Dx had been instructed to play in a 5-3-2 formation by their coach this week.
The picks for today were: Pivari - Cavarzere, Galazzo, Miloscio, Smerilli, Duma - Luzi, Bassi, Serra - Sassanelli, Lumperdean.
The boys of Blacks started the game in a 3-5-2 formation.
Starters: Calascibetta - Pannocchia, Panconi, Zaccheo - Jacob, Di Giacomo, Pira, Sacchetto, Condemi - Ranzani, Risitano.
The Jr Dx boys clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
Blacks displayed their ability to play creatively.
In the 22:th minute, Blacks nearly took the lead, as the promising
P. Ranzani broke through on the right.
R. Pivari made the save in style, however.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
A. Bassi needs plenty of that. He could have avoided that defensive blunder which almost gave Blacks a goal after 23 minutes.
Several mothers standing on the sideline felt the referee was much too lenient when he only showed
P. Risitano of Blacks a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 25 minutes into the game.
Jr Dx pushed through the central midfield, lead by
O. Miloscio who also had a fine chance to give his team the go-ahead goal after 27 minutes. However, the shot hit the crossbar.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Blacks didn't seem to want to give the ball away in this half, which resulted in 59 percent of the possession.
Making his way up the middle after 59 minutes,
R. Galazzo nearly flicked the ball past the goalkeeper
S. Calascibetta, but misfired. He'd forgotten his boots this morning and had to borrow a pair, maybe that's why?
70 minutes into the game, Jr Dx wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
O. Miloscio gave
A. Chiauzzi a quick hug as he left the field.
After 75 minutes, Jr Dx's
A. Chiauzzi received a yellow card after ignoring the referee's order to tuck his shirt inside his shorts.
Lacking experience with the current tactics, the players of Blacks kept running into each other on the pitch. They only managed a
passable level of organisation.
F. Luzi's name was on everyone's lips after his goal 79 minutes into the game. It was a combination through the middle putting Jr Dx ahead 1 - 0.
Jr Dx's
I. Lumperdean wanted to play on, but in the 81:th minute the decision was made to substitute him for
S. Dederbeck.
P. Risitano tied the game at 1 - 1 after 83 minutes, converting a fine pass from the right.
Jr Dx almost put themselves up after 85 minutes as
S. Dederbeck got through, but he lost focus and shot the ball wide.
After 86 minutes Blacks's
M. Sacchetto was out wide on the left, where he found himself unchallenged and able to receive a fine through pass. The keeper came towards him, but not quick enough to cut the attacker off completely. 1 - 2 for the visitors.
This half the Blacks boys hung on to the ball, with 58 percent of possession.
The coach of Jr Dx was especially pleased with
A. Duma after the game.
The coach took
R. Pivari aside after the game, telling him it is okay to have a bad day on the pitch as long as you keep trying.
The spectators agreed that the most impressive boy in Blacks today had been
P. Risitano.
D. Di Giacomo needs a lot of extra training, however.
At final whistle, the score is 1 - 2.
