Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Drosopigi. The guests almost went up by a goal after 6 minutes when C. Yuste came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. With 21 minutes played, L. Ftiaratos of Blacklight fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when A. Borstel was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 35 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! W. Biłgorajski had a good opportunity to give Drosopigi the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. The home keeper expected a move to the right, but G. Fasoulopoulos surprised him with a free kick aimed the other way 44 minutes into the match. 0 - 1 for Drosopigi. Drosopigi's A. Borstel was shown a yellow card after 44 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Maybe this was why G. Fasoulopoulos found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. A. Forakis of Drosopigi took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 67 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 3. By now, the players in Drosopigi felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. With 72 minutes played, A. Borstel nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. 75 minutes in, Blacklight's I. Mpampiniotis received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. With 78 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed A. Forakis of Drosopigi to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 4.
