Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 1654 at
Arenau of Przedbórz today.
Maurycy Krajewski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Badea Ştefănescu and
Eberhard Dornier.
PdZ tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Gościcki - Sumiala, Persson, Grzegorczyk - Jusis, Badiali, Rohrer, Azeredo - Ponte, Alberca, Fałowski.
A.S.Piazzarola decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Fragkioudakis - Vandersmissen, Krokosz, Blimmel - Thomson, Mouré Romanillos, Malmila, Putzu, Humaid - Godlieb, Zadora.
Today, PdZ's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
A.S.Piazzarola seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
After 12 minutes,
G. Badiali came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving PdZ the lead.
PdZ's
R. Azeredo was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 15 minutes.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in PdZ's
U. Persson increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of PdZ lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
PdZ put themselves up 3 - 0 when
B. Grzegorczyk broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
After 29 minutes, PdZ were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
A. Rohrer did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
Halftime score was 3 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by PdZ, with 55 percent of the ball.
A.S.Piazzarola's right side looked dangerous after 49 minutes, as
F. Mouré Romanillos broke through.
S. Gościcki continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy.
A.S.Piazzarola certainly deserved a goal after some stunning play down the left, but
F. Blimmel just wasn't able to finish.
After 62 minutes, a deliberate handball from PdZ's
R. Azeredo was judged to be his second bookable offence, and he was sent off.
S. Gościcki made a brilliant save 72 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from
A. Godlieb on the right hand side.
PdZ claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
Most important PdZ player was
B. Ponte.
However,
S. Gościcki made a disastrous appearance.
A.S.Piazzarola's top performer was clearly
A. Godlieb.
F. Blimmel on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 3 - 0.
