With 47 minutes played, Hammers put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was F. Buñuel. S. The Hammers fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Hammers lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. P. Reilly got a fingertip on F. Buñuel's shot from the left 69 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The visitors added to their lead 70 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Hammers's N. Couto Mello slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 6. Hammers had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.

The most dominating Pier player was without a doubt D. Michener. F. Sinclair turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Hammers player was L. Bollerhey. G. Parker on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 6.
